Milo rode a small brown horse along the sandy path.

He planned to reach the quiet pond and sketch a turtle.

Hooves tapped rhythmically; the animal kept a steady trot between trees.

A light breeze carried dry leaves across the track ahead.

One leaf slapped Milo’s hat and startled the gentle horse.

The sudden touch made the animal jump into a short gallop.

Milo gripped the reins tight; his sketchbook slid from the saddle.

It landed on a flat stone, pages fluttering over wet grass.

A rolling pebble struck the book and tipped it toward water.

Milo swung down, blocked the movement, and caught the top page.

A small green turtle crawled out from under the stone edge.

The creature settled directly on the blank sheet, quiet and still.

Milo blinked; the surprise gave him a perfect model at once.

He sat cross-legged beside the stone and started quick lines.

The horse calmed near a bush, nose low, breathing slowly.

Pencil strokes soon covered the page; breeze lifted only loose grass.

Milo pressed the final curve and placed the pencil inside pocket.

He closed the sketchbook and glanced at the resting turtle.
