Kai balances a bright canvas against his knees while moving along the corridor. The school has prepared a small gallery in the old music room, and entries have already been arranged inside. A ticking wall clock narrows the minutes; prize judging starts at noon. Around him, jubilant students wave ribbon bundles, turning the passage into a moving wall. Limited space forces Kai to edge sideways, and a backpack clip scrapes the fresh paint. He winces, then spots a service door that may shorten the route. The handle sticks, yet the gap finally widens, allowing him to slip through.

Inside the quiet room, dust circles in beams from the high window. Kai reaches the display stands, but one wooden bar is missing, leaving only a lonely metal notch on the frame. A slight nerve beneath his eye twitches as the clock chimes again. He flips the canvas, sliding the hook onto the lonely notch upside down by accident, then steps back. Surprise sparks when the colors form a clever mountain scene that teachers nearby start admiring. Whispered comments rise; his earlier mistake has created an unexpected panorama. The judges walk in, pencils ready, and the canvas stays exactly as it hangs.
