Milo carried bright paints to the open courtyard at school. He planned a large poster of a jumping dolphin today. Soft morning light rested on the quiet stone floor. He turned the sheet and added short white lines for spray. The once plain dolphin now jumped from a bright hopeful wave. Color accidents now inspire a lively sea around the animal. His youthful arm moved quickly, and classmates gathered to watch. They pointed and clapped when the final splash covered a blank edge. The bell rang; brushes dropped; the new poster dried in sunlight. Milo lifted the paper and set it against the wall. Paint gleamed under the bright afternoon glare.
