Both teenagers shared the same target, yet two forces pressed on them. A restless crowd jostled their elbows, while the dolphin surfaced only for seconds before sinking again. Maya tried quick shots, but each frame showed strangers' shoulders instead. Endurance alone could not win against rising noise, so she changed tactic. She spotted a thick novel resting beside Leo's pencil case. Its glossy cover reflected ceiling lights when she lifted it above their heads. The unexpected white surface bounced ripples across the pool, and a burst of silver shapes cut the water. The dolphin leaped through the glare at arm height.
