He placed a wide block sideways as a new base. This technique spread weight across the rug. Higher levels grew quickly until only one block remained. A small shake from his elbow moved the growing sides. Milo lifted it, then the tower shook without warning. A hidden marble rolled from a hole inside the block. Blocks fell, and the marble tapped his ankle and spun. The fall looked like a mistake, yet Milo grinned. Now he could learn from the surprise gift. The tower rose again, line by line.
