When the Marble Rang-

Story Content
English Original
Tara carried a round bowl toward the window shelf. She planned to water the small fern she chose to adopt today. It was her new habit before early classes. Soft morning light filled the tiny kitchen. She poured a gentle stream from a glass pitcher. Water met the soil and soon found a thin crack.
The crack let water slide under the pot and across tile. A bright puddle formed, then reached a stack of old papers. The bottom sheet soaked, curled, and pushed a loose marble outward. The marble began a quick leap from shelf to floor. It rolled into a bell, and the bell rang once. Tara caught the sound and saw water spreading farther. She slid a baking tray under the bowl, blocking the leak. The tray lifted the pot and stopped the small river. Tara wiped the floor with care and moved the papers aside. One last drop slid along the rim toward the tray.
Translation
