It bumps the thick hedge.
Clara kneels on soft grass.
She reaches for the ball.
Her arm stops at branches.
Soft dew cools her knees.
A quiet dream drifts nearby.
Clara says, "Oh, ball!"
She picks a long twig.
The twig pokes the ball.
The ball shakes, stays still.
Clara drops the twig slowly.
A number of pebbles lie.
She rolls one toward it.
Pebble taps, ball shifts nearer.
Celina steps from the alley.
Her hands help the twig.
Together they nudge the ball.
The ball slides into light.
Clara lifts it and smiles.
A dandelion seed drifts in.
