Four rows of folding chairs stood before a low stage.

A narrow aisle cut the rows near the right wall.

Zara and Inigo waited by the back row, beside the aisle.

Cool air from the ceiling fans moved across their faces.

A school concert started, and heads rose in front of them.

Zara lifted on her toes, but the view stayed blocked.

Her throat was dry, so she drank from a bottle.

Inigo stacked two foam blocks to build a short stand.

He set the bottle there and looked toward the stage.

"I can't see from here," Zara said.

She looked left and realized the aisle was open and clear.

She stepped sideways into it, close to the chair backs.

Her backpack brushed the foam stack and tipped the top block.

The block dropped, tapped an empty cup, and set it rolling.

The cup bumped a small glove under a chair.

It slid into the aisle and stopped by her shoe.

A little boy bent, pointed, and reached for the glove.

"That's mine," he said, eyes wide.

Inigo picked it up and passed it to his open hand.

Zara stayed in the aisle and finally saw the singer clearly.

On stage, the singer cleared his throat and began another song.

Hands rose together, and Zara clapped in time with the beat.
