Lantern on Wet Tiles-

Story Content
English Original
Early sun light filled the small patio.
Milo carried a silver pruner with an octopus sticker. He focused on one ripe orange above his head. Picking it felt simple in his morning fantasy of gardening. A cat jumped onto the table near the tree pot. The table shook and tipped a half-full watering can. Water splashed out, covering the tiles and Milo’s shoes. His foot slipped; the pruner hit the branch too hard. The orange dropped, rolled across wet tiles, and disappeared. The cat chased it, knocking a hanging paper lantern loose.
The lantern floated toward the small garden pond beside the patio. Bright red paper shone with sudden brilliance against the dark water. Milo dashed forward, but his wet shoes skidded again. The lantern touched water and began to sink slowly. He swung the pruner and caught the lantern’s thin string. A gentle tug pulled it away from the pond’s surface. Water dripped, but the paper stayed whole and bright. Milo placed the lantern back and wiped the wet tiles. The cat sat quietly; orange juice stained its whiskers. Milo closed the gate and walked toward the kitchen.
Translation
