Story Content
English Original
Soft morning light covered the wide meadow.
Leo ran along a narrow path toward the art tents. Fast breaths and excited hops made his backpack rattle loudly. In his bag, a small wood bird bumped against books. A famous sculptor prepared a stall near bright flowers. Leo wanted to show the artist his carving for advice. He reached the table and opened the bag very carefully. A sudden gust flipped the table cloth across the surface. The cloth hit the bird, and the carving skipped away downhill.
The bird slid across grass, struck a stone, and bounced farther. It dived under long stems, disappearing inside thick green lines. A nearby paint jar toppled after the stone rolled, spilling water. The stream pushed the bird deeper into the moving grass. Leo grabbed a thin stick and swept paths through the stems. Water soaked his shoes, yet he kept digging with care. The stick touched smooth wood. He lifted the carving; water dripped from its tail. Back at the stall, drops glimmered on the bird like glass. The sculptor studied the wet shine. He placed the carving beside his own stone statue. Visitors noticed the bright pattern made by water stripes. Leo set the bird on the wooden display shelf.
Translation
