Morning light filled the quiet camp. Sam packed a map for an outdoor adventure. Mia tied her shoes and joined him at once. Ben walked ahead and acted like a careful leader. Birds called overhead and tents rustled behind them. A police officer waved near the gate and checked the trail. The officer smiled and said nothing as the children passed.

They reached a narrow wooden bridge across a shallow stream. Sam stepped on the first plank and heard a short crack. The plank dropped, water splashed, and a stick struck a bush. A fearful cry came from the bush; a rabbit jumped out. The sudden jump shook loose stones that rolled onto the path. Mia lost balance but caught a low branch before falling. The branch bent and dropped dry leaves over their bags. Sam laughed, brushed the leaves, then pointed at a stone figure. The figure stood beside the rock like a silent guardian. Ben climbed the rock and placed a small flag on top. Water dripped from the broken plank, yet the path stayed open. The group crossed, picked up their bags, and walked onward.
