Cool mud presses on Ingrid's palm.
She kneels beside the stream.
Soft light flickers through leaves.
A crisp yellow leaf rests nearby.
Ingrid taps a smooth rock.
Ripples spread; a water strider zips.
She smiles and looks around.
A bunch of colorful pebbles gleams.
She drops them into the flow.
Plinks rise and rings widen outward.
Tiny bubbles lift then drift.
Meadow grass leans over water.
Next, she presses soft clay.
The lump flattens; water darkens it.
Clay edges curl in slowly.
A small beetle climbs the log.
"Hello, little one," Ingrid says.
The beetle disappears under the root.
