Story Content
English Original
Cold mud hugs Blythe's toes.
Morning light jumps between leaves.
A smooth flat rock waits near.
Blythe picks five wet pebbles.
She stacks them on the rock.
She wipes water from fingers.
Grit sticks on her palm.
The young fern brushes her elbow.
A writer watches birds across water.
Blythe whispers, "We talk later, birds."
The pebble stack tilts on first try.
One pebble slips and plops.
Water rings shake the tiny tower.
Blythe presses soft clay around base.
The tower stands straight again.
She smiles and steps back.
A bright leaf lands beside tower.
A water strider skims into view.

年輕的蕨葉輕刷她的手肘。
對岸一位作家正看著鳥。
布萊絲輕聲說:「鳥兒,我們等等再聊。」
