A book rests on her knees.
"I draw today," she says.
On the page, a cook has a tall hat.
The page lifts and flaps once.
Paper rustles.
Ronan walks to the gate gap.
He bends and looks under.
Wet grass fills the narrow strip.
Muddy shoe prints press the path.
An ant crosses the stone joint.
A loose petal slides under.
It is a rose petal.
