The father says, "Soup is almost ready."
Steam rises and fogs a cool jar.
It sits by the pot.
Steam pushes softly at the glass.
A tiny dot of water slides down.
Old finger smudges cloud the side.
She looks back to the sink.
The bubble is gone now.
Only small suds hug the cup.
