His palm rests on the plank.
Dew beads line the fine grain.
A pale ring marks the wood.
He adds a white pebble.
He adds a clothespin from grass.
They make a short row.
Two leaf tips meet neatly.
He returns the clothespin first.
A small ant crosses the spot.
Oswin blinks.
His hand holds still over grass.
