English 原文
Over the lunchtime lull, Liora stepped into the central plaza where a transparent floor covered a net of tiny lamps. Visitors wandered over it; each heel strike ignited ripples of color, then faded. Above, microphones suspended on slender rods recorded every tap, snap, or laugh. Tiny processors immediately encode the noises into pulses for the lamps, turning the whole place into a living kaleidoscope. Liora adjusted the strap of her canvas bag, tapped the edge with her shoe twice, then paced toward an empty segment, timing her entry before the afternoon clouds rolled in.
A new sequence began as an attendant pressed a reset switch to facilitate the next round. The grid dimmed. People spread out, clearing makeshift lanes for fresh colors. Liora placed a wooden ruler on the glass as a prop, lifted her foot, and stamped three times in quick succession. Crimson squares blossomed, tracing the rhythm of her soles. She spun, clapped once, and a line of gold followed the clap like liquid thread. Children nearby skipped, adding staccato turquoise flashes. The floor resembled an eccentric quilt, every movement stitching another patch of brightness.
She crouched to set down a tiny metal toy that chimed when shaken; softer tones usually followed its chime. On her first attempt the toy slipped from her palm, slid under a railing, and thudded against a microphone stand. A sharp ring of feedback burst from hidden speakers; for a breath the lamps froze white. At that exact beat an eccentric pigeon dove between two visitors, flapping against the stand. The jolt knocked a cable loose, and the grid misread the signal. Instead of separate dots, the entire pattern merged into a sweeping spiral that turned from center to edge like a spinning galaxy.
Gasps rose, yet no panic followed. Participants glanced at one another, shoulders loose, steps unhurried, then began moving again. The system recovered; processors rapidly encode new motions, layering fresh streaks over the lingering whirl. The spiral fractured into smaller arcs, and colors settled into calmer stripes. Some visitors traced the fading arcs with their shoes, as if outlining petals on invisible water. Liora reached beneath the railing, retrieved her toy, and tucked it safely into her bag. A maintenance worker knelt, reattached the cable, and the speakers hushed. Footsteps resumed their uneven music. As the sequence concluded, overhead lights dimmed to signal pause. Yellow and violet squares rested on the glass floor.
