Sera Under the Tavern Light-

English 原文
Sera’s fingers traced the guitar neck while lanterns swayed above the crowded tavern. Her name had been written on the chalkboard beside the door, yet fresh hesitation tightened her shoulders each time a stool scraped the floor. She had practiced the melody since dawn, but the room’s low ceiling pressed heat onto every breath, slowing her momentum. When the host finally called her forward, the cable dangling from the microphone slipped free. She crouched, re-plugged it, and a fizz of feedback jumped across the walls, earning a ripple of laughter that shook her grip on the pick.
Jonas, a drummer passing through town, tapped two knuckles against her table as if proposing an alliance. Without speaking, he carried a hand drum onto the stage and balanced it beside her stool. Sera nodded once; the spotlight brushed both faces, pale and uncertain. She struck the first chord, and Jonas answered with a steady thump. Halfway through the verse, a string snapped. If the string had not snapped, the tune would have flowed easily, but the sharp twang froze her elbow in mid-air. Jonas kept the beat alive, and she shifted to a simpler pattern that avoided the broken string while sweat slid down her wrist.
The crowd leaned closer, benches creaking like branches under wind. With each shortened chord, new notes surfaced, lighter and quicker, and Jonas matched them, turning the simple rhythm into something playful. The room’s earlier laughter softened into humming voices, and the floorboards seemed to breathe beneath tapping boots. When the final chord rang, Sera lowered her guitar and wiped her palm against her jeans, breath clouding the lamp’s glass. Applause rested on the wooden tables.
