Mira at the Quiet Quay-

English 原文
Mira has painted many harbors, yet the quiet quay beside her town still attracts her brushes. Late afternoon light touches the wooden surface, and gentle gull cries float overhead. Her easel has been packed carefully since sunrise, so she carries it along the narrow pier and stops where the planks extend over deep water. From that spot, observation of every ripple becomes easy; even the shy crabs appear between the beams. She unfolds the stand, clips fresh paper, and mixes soft blue with orange. Meanwhile the tide changes direction, sending small swirling lines against the posts. Fingers tap, sleeves roll back, and the first careful strokes spread across the page.
A sudden slap of water reaches her ankles; rising waves have soaked the lowest board. At the same moment, a small fishing boat passes so near that its loose anchor snags the strap of her backpack, which rests on the step for brushes. The bag slides toward the edge, and her eyes widen. She drops the palette, lunges forward, and grabs the cold metal ring. The boat keeps moving, but the strap tears, releasing the bag. She steadies her balance, moves everything up two boards, and secures the backpack behind a crate. Wind still flicks at pages, so she presses them down with smooth stones. When colors finally blend into a bright horizon, paint touches the canvas as the waves rock gently below.
