Leo balanced three cardboard boxes on a dolly outside the bakery. He had promised to reach the weekend market before the clock struck twelve, so the muffins would still smell warm. The goal sounded simple, yet morning traffic crawled. Logistics around the highway looped cars into a long metal ribbon, and the supply chain behind Leo threatened to freeze: the café that ordered the muffins needed them for its first rush. The boxes that carried the treats shook whenever the van stopped and started, and Leo whispered a short apology each time a raspberry topping slid. Quality control depended on arriving with perfect shapes, not crumbs.

Halfway to the market, another problem joined the journey. A soft mew drifted from the boxes, followed by a sudden hop inside. A kitten had slipped into the load at the bakery door, turning the dolly into a tiny playground. Traffic still blocked the avenue, so Leo changed strategy. He parked near a building whose side lane was opened by recent construction, lifted the top box, and pushed the loaded dolly through the quieter alley. The kitten balanced on the rim like a tiny captain. At the stall, the vendor who had signed the muffin contract stared wide-eyed as the animal stretched between pastries. A gentle laugh rose from the crowd while the kitten licked sugar off its nose. Leo closed the final box flap, and the stall lights glowed over intact muffins.
