Heat from a hidden lamp pushed bubbles along the bend; each bubble burst, striking the glass with the same bell-like note that had started his search. The exhibit had been rigged to restart on a timer, so no attendant stood nearby. Ben angled the poster tube once more, confirming the pitch, then lowered it with a grin that creased his cheeks. He turned toward the gift shop entrance where fresh chatter now echoed. Behind him, bubbles kept climbing the glass arc, tapping out their irregular cadence while the door at the corridor’s far end swung shut on its own slow hinge.
