Greer lifted her boot and stepped sideways across the grey tile. An orange cat trotted between her shoes, whiskers twitching at the cold air. The animal followed its familiar path along the platform edge, claws clicking, tail raised. Near the luggage trolley, a thin, faded blanket lay half-folded. The cat caught the corner with one paw and dragged it over the rough concrete. The fabric scraped, then bunched when a loose thread snagged on a drain grate. After a short tug the corner loosened, and the blanket rested beneath the warm radiator.

A slow drizzle reached the roof, and thin drops slipped through a cracked gutter above the track. Water fell in a steady stream, striking the platform and spreading across the smooth tile. The cat nosed a small white seashell that had rolled from a child's open bag earlier that morning. At first the shell scraped with a dry whisper, its ridges gripping each ridge in the stone. As the tile grew damp, the shell began to slide farther, leaving a faint, wet trail. A passing train rumbled; the floor quivered, and ripples raced through the shallow water around the cat’s paws.

The drizzle thickened, turning the stream into a wide sheet that crept toward the blanket. Fiber after fiber soaked up the water, darkening the cloth and weighing its edge. The cat leaped onto a bench, claws squeaking on the painted slats, and watched the seashell drift. A low wind slid under the station awning and pushed the water higher.

Water climbed the step and covered the pale tiles. A sudden splash buried the blanket completely, leaving only a moving wave across the platform.

雨勢加重，水流變成一道寬幕，朝毯子蔓延。纖維逐根吸水，布面變暗，邊緣下沉。貓跳上長椅，爪尖在油漆木條上吱吱作響，看著海螺漂遠。低風鑽入月台篷下，推著積水更高。

水越過踏階，覆蓋蒼白地磚。突如其來的水花整片淹沒毯子，只剩一道移動的浪線掠過月台。
