English 原文
A dark bead of navy ink balanced at the mouth of Yasmin's tiny glass jar. Would it stay still while the platform boards trembled under the arriving train?
She sat beside Marisol on the long bench, knees swinging above the wooden floorboards. Between her shoes rested a folded sketchbook showing the first thin outline of a train design. A tabby cat watched from the sunlit edge of the platform, tail flicking once. Warm sunlight met the cool shadow under the awning, spreading striped gold across the dusty boards.
The bell sounded, and the jar quivered; the bead slipped, then dripped onto the open page. Ink spread with slow viscosity, curling under surface tension and swallowing Yasmin's pencil lines. She tipped the sketchbook to change the current, trying to keep the color inside the wheels. The liquid swirled instead, forming a broad blot that refused all control. From Yasmin's low perspective, the blot looked like a small lake covering wooden sleepers. She pressed a corner of thin tissue against the edge, and blue seeped upward through the fibers. "The bell just rang," Marisol said, her eyes on the distant bend of track. Yasmin nodded yet kept tilting, hoping the fresh slope would explain the fluid's path. The new shape gave her a different concept for the picture, a ferry instead of a train. Changing vehicles caused no hardship; the paper carried both journeys without protest.
Before the ink dried, the tabby stepped closer, nose twitching at the oily smell. Its front paw landed in the shallow pool and rose again with a faint bubble. A round drop fell, marking the platform plank beside Yasmin's shoe like a careless stamp. Yasmin laughed and pressed her own thumb into the damp corner of the page. Blue circles from child and cat now sat side by side, a quiet twin pattern. She lifted the sketchbook, leaving the twin prints under the awning as footsteps crossed overhead.
