Milo carried a small box across the sunny yard.

A tall tree stood near the picnic blanket.

He planned to decorate the branches with colored paper stars.

He reached the low fence that circled the garden corner.

His foot kicked loose gravel, and small rocks bounced away.

The box slipped, and the paper sheets flew into air.

Wind lifted several sheets over the fence toward the neighbor's yard.

Milo ran after them, but the neighbor's gate stayed locked.

Little dog Poppy sniffed at the fence and nudged two sheets back.

He stopped, grabbed one remaining sheet, and began to fold quickly.

He folded corners inward until a bright paper star formed.

He tied string through the star and climbed the sturdy tree.

The breeze still moved, yet the star rested between thick leaves.
