Leo walks along the quay. Warm sun shines over water. Salt air moves around him. He carries a bread bag. He steps toward the sea. Two cats wander near benches. Their tails flick above boards. Waves lap below the quay. A small crab crosses stone. Gulls circle and screech overhead. Leo tightens his hat string. Light sparkles across gentle ripples.

A fisher spreads a wide net. The net blocks the walkway. Leo pauses beside the wooden bridge. Water swirls under the low planks. Leo steps onto the bridge. Boards creak but stay firm. He passes above the net. Gulls shriek and flap nearby. He reaches the end rail. He drops crumbs toward water. Splashes echo across the sea. A crab grips his shoe. Leo hops then shakes foot. The crab plops back down. Foam bubbles pop and drift. Gull noise is stopped now.
