The Tipping Boxes- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Sunshine filled the narrow back street. Leo pulled a tiny wagon holding bright flowers. He headed toward the house of the new neighbor. The wagon wheel dropped into a crack between stones. The jolt tipped the pot; water splashed over the path. A chalk pebble slid downhill with the water. The pebble knocked a resting ball beside the fence. The ball rolled forward and touched a sleepy cat. The cat sprang sideways, tipping a stack of light boxes.

The boxes fell against Leo's wagon and lifted the stuck wheel. The wagon moved again with smooth motion. Leo gripped the handle and continued toward the gate. Small children in the yard saw the moving boxes first. Laughter rose around him as the cat chased the ball. Their steps danced in unity while stacking the boxes again. One child pointed at the flowers and opened the garden door. Leo placed the pot near the door without speaking. The group watched soil settle; petals stayed safe and clean. An old woman waved from inside, eyes bright like morning light. Leo turned back down the street, wheels turning over clear stones. The chain of moving things became a small street story.
