English 원문
Warm sunlight spilled through the glass, and a soft traffic hum drifted upward. Milo placed a narrow table under the window for his class project poster. Tomorrow, the class would leave on a fieldtrip to the orchard. Apples filled his thoughts. He positioned a clear vase in the center and lifted a bright red apple. The goal was simple: fit the apple inside, then photograph the result. At the first attempt, the fruit blocked the narrow mouth and refused to move. Meanwhile, a lively breeze pushed the curtain, making the vase wobble across polished wood. Milo slid a cozy wool scarf under the glass, and the movement stopped. He has measured the opening before, yet those careful numbers offered no help now.
He pressed the apple against the table, turning it until a fine crack appeared. With a quick twist, the stem broke, and the shape grew slightly slimmer. The altered fruit slipped through the opening and landed with a muted thud inside. Milo stepped back, raised his camera, and framed the glowing apple behind clean glass. At that moment, a small sparrow darted through the window and landed on the rim. The bird pecked the crack, tore a fragment free, and hopped to the railing to feed. Its sudden weight tilted the glass, yet the scarf held the vase upright. Light flashed on the tiny hole, turning the simple image into something unexpected. Milo clicked the shutter once, then watched the sparrow vanish and the curtain rest. The vase stood still, apple shining quietly inside the glass.
