The sun is warm today. A small squirrel sees a nut. The nut sits between two roots. The squirrel tugs at the nut. Thick roots grip the nut tight. The squirrel pulls with both paws. A dry leaf hangs above. A party of ants walks nearby. Their line crosses the squirrel path. At the meeting point soil shifts. The roots begin to move apart. One half of the nut breaks. The loose part rolls to grass. Later the ants carry crumbs away. The squirrel lifts the sweet half. The squirrel runs to a log. The broken shell stays on the root.
