Trouble from a Rolling Wheel- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

A brown mouse tugged at a loose wooden peg. The peg slipped free and touched a leaning cart wheel. The wheel rolled forward across dusty boards toward a tall crate. Warm afternoon light filled the quiet barn. A smaller mouse moved beside him like a silent partner.

The rolling wheel bumped the crate with a short thud. A bent nail frustrated the wheel, yet it kept rolling. That crate jolted backward and struck a row of various boxes. The boxes toppled and sent nails dancing across the plank. Nails hit a hanging rope, and the rope swung wide. The wide swing pulled a safety rail over the path. The lowered rail blocked the crate and stopped the wild tumble. A loose lid from one box spun like a thin disc. It rolled away and knocked crumbs from an open sack. Crumbs rained down; the mice scattered as burlap brushed their whiskers. Thin dust swirled under the lowered rail toward the door.
