English 원문
The flask's brushed metal felt slick against Mabel's moist palm after she wiped condensation with her sleeve. A lively lemon aroma burst free as she loosened the cap, promising a tart splash over the cup. The blanket's hidden ridge nudged that cup sideways, and sticky liquid painted a thin, sugary ribbon across the cloth. A gentle breeze carried toasted-peanut fragrance from another picnic and fluttered paper plates near the downhill corner. At that moment the dog yanked the basket leash, adding a messy flourish that rattled forks and oregano-scented containers. Mabel screwed the lid tight again; yet citrus foam leaked, meeting the grassy, pepper-warm scent from crushed blades beside her knee. The cup rolled downhill into the creeping shade while the fizz inside the flask stayed unheard.
Troy plucked a radish sprout from a sandwich, its sharp, mustard-like tang lifting over the milder smells of bread. He passed the sprig to the curious dog, distracting it long enough for Mabel to gather runaway grapes near the grass border. The grapes carried a wine-sweet note that mixed with cut cucumber, creating an unexpected abundance of flavours around their knees. A stack of berry tarts had been arranged near the shade, and jammy perfume drifted every time the blanket shifted. Mabel walked to the park bench for extra napkins; yeast-warm air rose from a bakery bag left beside the water bottle. On her way back, she practised silent diplomacy with the slope, stepping carefully so no plate skidded toward the downhill corner. The wicker lid rocked open under a gust, releasing cinnamon steam that curled around the wicker like vines ready to flourish. By the time she tucked the lid shut, breadcrumbs stuck to her fingertips, tasting of olive oil and cracked pepper.
As Mabel arranged forks beside the tarts, the flask drifted back, nudged by Troy’s elbow and the persistent slope. It tapped her ankle, leaving a cool citrus scent that cut through the heavier pastry vapour in the centre flat. She lifted it again; the earlier spill had left only a thin film, making the neck less slippery than before. This time her thumb found the right groove, and a calm ribbon of lemonade poured into the waiting cup. A fresh burst of rind-bright fragrance mingled with the mild grass smell drifting from crushed blades. Below her elbow, a pale citrus arc now curved across the fabric near the downhill edge.
