He steps to the tall window.

Grey rain slides down the glass.

He looks through the cold opening.

Wet playground stones form a long road.

A toy rabbit leans near him.

Dust dots, maybe a hundred, drift upward.

A lot of crayons rattle inside tin.

Keane walks to a shelf gap.

The space is dark and narrow.

He crouches and looks through it.

His sister Petra stacks paper squares.

Petra says, "Blue paint dries fast."

Through the gap he sees the hallway.

A paper stack slides then stops.

One sheet lands on Petra's head.

Both children laugh and stay still.

Raindrops tap the glass.
