Steam twists above a silver pan. Xavier steps onto the smooth tiles. He rises onto his toes. Warm sunlight paints the side bench. The tidy bench holds soft butter. Window warmth loosens the butter edges. Tiny salt grains sparkle nearby. The grains rest on a metal plate. The block now leans, glossy and wider.

Beside the sink, soap suds climb. They pile into a small round tower. Light catches the tower like a castle. Water drips, thinning the bright walls. Xavier looks back at the butter. Its top tilts farther, almost oval. A nice soap smell glides over. He whispers, "So soft now." The window cloth lifts in gentle air. A sudden drip taps the pan.
