Last Drip in the Puddle Yard- 適合初學者的英語短篇故事

Plip! A roof drip lands on Cora's right shoulder. She stands still on the dry wooden step. Cool air brushes her face. A gentle ring moves across the large puddle. The water shows a pale horizon over the fence. More drips fall. The circles increase and bump.

A round pebble slides from the wall. It taps her boot. A tiny white fluff drifts down. It rests on her hand, light as a wish. The grown-up in the doorway laughs, "Splash, splash." Cora stays still. A fat drip bursts. Water jumps. One drop pats her cheek. She blinks. The pebble rests. The fluff lifts away. A last drip plops.

啪啦！屋簷上的水滴落在 Cora 的右肩。她站在乾燥的木階上，一動也不動。涼爽的空氣掠過她的臉。柔和的水圈在大水坑上擴散開來。水面映出籬笆上方淡淡的地平線。更多水滴落下，水圈增多並互相碰撞。
