A small car rolls across the mat. Felix crouches beside the low shelf. He spots a narrow gap. He looks through the opening. Inside, a yellow pencil rests sideways. A blue yarn loop touches it. Dust floats in the light. The room is bright.

Felix moves to the space under the shelf. A folded paper blocks his view. A spinning top wobbles beside it. Felix waits. The top stops. Renn says, "I see blocks." He leans lower and sees a pink eraser. Dry red paint stains the wood behind it. He stands near the warm window. Outside, leaves sway in gentle air. Morning light slides over the mat. The small car now touches the window frame.
