English 원문
Dry apple peel and cool limestone filled the stairwell as Gwen stepped down into the cellar. A low ceiling pressed the air, and rows of empty glass bottles rested on a wooden beam. Their colors formed a loose pattern: clear, green, brown, then clear again. She lifted one light bottle with two fingers; its rim was smooth and warm from the room above. When her nail brushed the glass, a thin ring bounced off the stones and rolled back as a soft echo.
The ring faded, and Gwen tapped a heavier bottle. A deeper hum answered and vibrated through the shelf, so the cork beside her wobbled. She caught the cork and tried to juggle it with two others; they slipped, hit the floor, and clacked like tiny drums. "Hello there," she said, amused by the sudden rhythm. An opportunity for another sound arrived when she set a wide clay jug on its side. Air slid through the narrow neck, and the jug moaned. The vibration loosened fine dust between bricks; a honeybee crawled out from a hair-thin crack, its wings shaking. Gwen paused, ready to make a choice between another tap or quiet waiting. She tilted the jug back to upright, letting the note die slowly while the insect traced circles under the dim bulb. The bottles kept answering each other with faint, uneven pulses. Dust drifts continued through the beam of light. The clay jug still sings in a low, hollow breath.
