Rainy clouds hung low above the small garden path.

A kid named Milo held his new camera tight.

He wanted a clear picture of a shy green bird.

The bird perched on a high branch of the old tree.

Milo stepped forward and slipped on wet leaves near roots.

His knees met mud, so he began to crawl slowly.

The sudden motion shook the branch above his head.

A walnut dropped, landing inside a metal watering can.

The can rang with a sharp metal echo across yard.

Startled, the bird fluttered lower and landed on a fence.

Rain tapped harder, yet Milo kept the camera ready.

Water drops dotted the lens, blocking the tiny moving shape.

He wiped the glass quickly with his shirt sleeve.

The fence wobbled under the bird, spraying loose paint chips.

White specks drifted around, and the bird stayed very still.

Milo pressed the button and captured the bright waiting image.

Thunder rumbled, so he tucked the camera under his jacket.

He stood, wiped his hands, and walked toward the porch.
