A tall box blocks him. The puppy stops and sniffs. His ears perk and twitch. He lowers his short body. He slides under the box. The ball squeaks and jumps. The girl blinks and gasps. Her hands lift the box. Clear space opens at once. The puppy taps the ball. The ball bumps her knee. Laughter bursts around the room. The puppy is sat still.
