The Squirrel and the Rolling Cans- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Morning light fell across the campus path.

Lena carried a blue cooler full of empty cans. She wanted to stop lunchtime pollution near the pond. She aimed to drop each can into the silver collection box. Wind shook the branches and slowed her careful steps.

Wet paper filled the slot at the box. A can struck the paper and bounced onto the path. It rolled downhill, tapped a loose brick, and startled a squirrel. The squirrel jumped, kicked Lena's cooler, and the lid flew open. Cans spilled and rang against the stone steps. Many students saw the bouncing cans and chose to participate. Lena needed to adjust, so she decided to make a plan. She stacked bricks under the front edge of the box. The slot lifted, the wet paper dropped, and space cleared. Together they guided every shaking can into the box. A breeze moved the last dry leaf across the path.

校園小徑晨光灑落。

莉娜抱著裝滿空鋁罐的藍色保冷箱，她想減少池塘旁的午餐垃圾。她計畫把每個罐子投入美術教室後方的銀色回收箱。風晃動樹枝，放慢了她小心的腳步。
