Now, she rolls one apple. The apple bumps the desk. The desk stack slides slightly. The teacher steadies the papers. The teacher says, "That rolls far." A picture of dessert lies nearby. Crayon colours shine on it. She does not eat it. Valda taps the dessert picture. Paper edges lift and fall. Grey light stays on the desk.
