A duck quacks by the pond. Drake sits very still on the bench. Sunlight falls on the wood. The grass is bright green. Orla sits on a far bench. Orla and Drake say hello.
A tiny dandelion seed lands on his nose. Very light. It is tickly and light. A small fish flicks the surface. A cold drop taps his wrist. A white wedding ribbon shifts near his knee. Its loose end touches his jeans. So soft. Hedge twigs bend, and one taps his shoulder, scratchy and dry.
Orla says, "Nice morning." Drake stays still and blinks. A sparrow chirps on the path. The duck paddles away behind the reeds.
