English 原文
Kai considered himself a dessert connoisseur, yet nothing in his notebook compared to the rumor of an otter-shaped chocolate mousse served on the Riverside Terrace Café. On Saturday afternoon sunlight scattered across the water while he slipped onto a wicker chair, eager to capture and taste the masterpiece. The plate arrived, and the dessert had been handcrafted by Lila, the café’s quiet pastry artist. She placed it gently before him; glossy chocolate reflected Kai’s wide eyes like a mirror. He had already positioned his phone, certain the first shot would crown his blog’s front page.
The plan broke immediately. His screen blinked red—one percent power. If Kai had remembered his power bank, the first attempt would have worked. Lila fetched an old phone from the counter, yet harsh glare bounced off the river and washed every detail. Umbrellas rattled as wind pressed against them, shaking patterns of light across the table. Kai lowered the dessert, searching for shade, and a playful cluster of the café’s kittens rolled under his chair, forming a furry cuddle puddle that brushed his ankles and jostled his balance. The mousse wobbled; a chocolate ear slid, leaving a thin brown trail.
Kai steadied the plate and tried another approach. A polished teapot caught sun nearby; using it as a reflector, he angled soft light onto the dessert. The image finally snapped crisp and bright. At that precise second, a real otter popped its head over the terrace rail, climbed onto the tiles, and sniffed the mousse with twitching whiskers. Gasps burst from every table. Before anyone reacted, the visitor nipped the trailing chocolate ear and splashed back toward the river, droplets sparkling behind it. Lila laughed first; relief loosened Kai’s shoulders while applause rippled around. A silver spoon lay quiet on the empty terrace table.
