English 原文
Mira adjusted the strap of her old camera, then set out before sunrise. She chased one clear goal: capture the elusive owl visiting the city garden at dawn. She always treated dawn as an ally, yet a chill stiffened her fingers at the gate. A marble lion, standing like a silent guardian beside the path, caught the first pale light. The lens had been cleaned with care in her room that morning. A sudden gust blew dust across the glass, smudging her first observation of the treetops. She wiped it again, raised the camera, and waited beside the gate. Leaves rustled, releasing earthy scents with damp stone—sensory details she stored for sketches. Still no owl swooped through the thinning mist above the quiet grove. A branch cracked inside the grove, but only pigeons fluttered out above. If she had known the owl’s habit, she would have waited near the fountain.
Light grew while Mira circled the fountain; splashes kept misting her lens, and every new frame blurred. She lowered the camera, exhaled into cupped palms, and rubbed warmth along the metal barrel. Her feet carried her back to the marble lion for one last angle. Dawn had already deepened into amber, painting sharp shadows across the statue’s mane. Mira crouched close to the base, focused on texture, and pressed the waiting shutter. The click startled a tuft of feathers hidden behind the lion’s ear. An owl glided outward, wings brushing her sleeve before landing on the statue’s head. Instinct pushed her index finger faster than thought; three shots fired while the bird settled. The wings folded, and she noticed a result: the owl’s mottled chest mirrored carvings on the stone, blurring stone and identity together. On the small screen, the owl’s image rested under the soft dawn light.
