Kite on the Shelf- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Milo carried a bright kite into the small gym. He wanted to place the kite on the highest shelf. A narrow wooden stool stood under the shelf. Light from the window fell across the stool. He climbed the stool and reached for the hook. The stool wobbled on the smooth floor. His heel knocked a cardboard box behind the stool.

The box slid down and tipped over a crate of balls. A red ball rolled fast across the gym lines. It bumped a plastic tray filled with toy animals. A hawk figure launched into the air and hit a hamster puppet. The hamster spun, touched a rubber duck, flipping a tiny vulture mask. Pieces scattered across the shiny floor in many directions. A door creaked and an instructor stepped inside the gym. Milo jumped down, gathered the toys, and steadied the stool. The shelf finally held the bright kite without shaking. The door clicked shut behind Milo.

米洛拿著一只鮮豔的風箏走進小體育館。他想把風箏放到最高的架子上。窄窄的木凳就擺在架子下方。窗外的光線斜照在凳面上。他踩上凳子，伸手去夾鉤。凳子在光滑的地板上搖晃。他的腳後跟碰倒身後的紙箱。

紙箱滑下來，撞翻一箱球。一顆紅球沿著場地線快速滾動，碰到放著玩具動物的塑膠盤。一隻鷹模型飛上空中，撞到一個倉鼠手偶。倉鼠旋轉，推到橡膠鴨，又掀起一個小禿鷹面具。玩具散落在亮亮的地板上。門吱呀一聲開了，一位指導員走進體育館。米洛跳下凳子，撿起玩具，扶正凳子。架子終於穩穩托住那只鮮豔的風箏。門在米洛身後咔噠關上。
