Leo at the Narrow Bridge-

English 原文
Leo balanced a woven basket while stepping along the forest track.
He had promised to bring tasty sandwiches to Mira before the sunlight faded.
The plank bridge, which crossed a quick stream, was built from narrow boards.
The handle, worn by earlier journeys, snapped just as his boot touched the wood.
Bread and fruit rolled toward the edge, and water splashed against the boards.
He lunged forward; his knees bumped damp moss, and the food stopped.
While gathering the pieces, Leo noticed broad fern fronds beside the path.
He has often folded leaves during camping trips, so his fingers moved quickly.
Soon the sandwiches rested on the green platform, safe from another tumble.
A rustle rose from a pile of beech needles near his boot.
A hedgehog, curled tight like a forest urchin, sniffed a fallen crumb.
It stretched, nudged the crumb, and trotted back under the fern curtain.
The unexpected guest left the trail quiet again, and Leo exhaled through parted lips.
He lifted the cradle, crossed the bridge, and spotted Mira waving beside a log.
The basket touched the grass without shaking, and daylight lay steady on their meal.
