Leo Above the Broken Tower-

English 原文
Leo adjusted the strap of his sketch bag and studied the valley at dawn. The art contest demanded a fresh view, so he set one clear goal: capture the widest landscape before noon. He had already tried the popular terrace last week, but crowds blocked every corner. Today he chose the abandoned signal tower on the ridge, sure that an empty vantage point waited there. The tower had been designed as a wartime lookout, and narrow slits in the walls still framed distant ridges. A rusted gate resisted his first push, yet it swung after a second shove, and he began to ascend the spiral stairs.
Halfway up, a loose bolt slipped, and the railing tilted, forcing him to grip the cold metal posts. When he reached the top, thick morning mist floated through the broken windows, hiding the valley entirely. If he had brought brighter paints, he would have worked inside and ignored the fog, but his palette demanded sunlight. He paced in circles, waiting for light, when a sudden roar shook the tower. A red helicopter hovered low; its navigator, checking instruments, failed to notice the fragile roof beneath their downdraft. A wrong coordinate had been plotted by the navigator, so the craft remained directly above the tower. Dust burst upward, the mist scattered, and a loose shingle clattered down beside Leo’s shoes.
Gaps opened in the cloud, revealing streaks of river silver and patchwork fields glowing like coins on fabric. The unexpected gust from the helicopter had cleared just enough air for a scene impossible from ground level. Leo crouched, pressed charcoal to paper, and sketched narrow shafts of light sliding between violet curtains of vapor. He wished he had carried a camera, yet the rough strokes now captured motion better than any lens. By the time the helicopter faded beyond the ridge, the valley shone through clear corridors of air, and his page stood filled. The sketchbook rested flat on the stone step.
