English 原文
A low electric hum spilled from the ceiling ballast, rattling the empty classroom for a moment. Cora crouched beside a steel-grey cabinet, unknotting the wire loop on a blue magnetic organizer that would soon hold her group’s timetable. A rolled poster, printed with bright icons for balanced lifestyle choice, waited on two pale desks; its corners still curled upward. Beside it, a project board compared lifestyle charts with meal types from yesterday’s health lesson. She slid two rosemary pots aside so the fluorescent reflection no longer struck their glass rims. Beyond the window, neat rows in the small vegetable patch drew blue-shadowed lines across the soil, and each compact plant caught flecks of drifting chalk dust.
She raised the organizer toward the wall rail, but the loop snagged a loose chart pin. The pin bounced, landed among the rosemary, and shook one stem. A pale spider dropped on a filament, swinging in the cool light. From the corridor sill, a sparrow darted through the half-open window, aiming at the moving thread. Its wings brushed the poster tube, rolling it across the desk until it tapped a water bottle. The bottle toppled; clear water slid over the smooth surface, pooled at the edge, and spilled in silver ribbons toward the tiled floor.
Cora wedged a notebook under the bottle, slowing the flow, then pushed the poster tube onto a higher shelf. The spider slipped behind the radiator grill; the sparrow veered upward and shot into the corridor, beating past metal lockers that answered with a hollow clang. A passing coach swung the door wider, and the gust redirected the water stream away from nearby sockets until only scattered drops clung to the chrome rim. He closed the window firmly before crossing the hall again. Outside, a grey pigeon on the playground fence tilted its head at the sudden stillness. The pigeon lifted off and skimmed above the silver railing toward the vegetable patch.
