English 原文
"That rail feels oily." Sam rubbed two fingers together and frowned at the dark smear.
Clara pressed her thumb against the curved metal. A thin film clung to her skin, slick like cooking grease left overnight. While she searched for a tissue, a pigeon began to waddle near the ticket gate, its wings beating just enough to stir up crumbs that rolled across the concrete. The solstice sun hung low behind the glass roof, so the long light grazed the platform and revealed a flat, round shape tucked between bolts at the rail’s base. The disk looked no larger than a shirt button, yet its dull surface caught on her thumbnail when she tried to pry it free. A distant engine thrummed through the floor and added a faint vibration that made the lodged edge buzz against her nail.
The next train rumbled into view, but the doors stopped several cars away. Clara’s brother jogged toward the crowd, leaving her with the stubborn disk. She hooked a key under the rim—too thick. She wedged a travel card beside it—too soft. She switched grip and pushed sideways; the metal plate refused to slide. Footsteps shuffled past, and warm air from the train’s brakes fostered a sticky heat around her knuckles. Choosing not to hurry, she knelt and worked both thumbs under the cooler underside, where grime felt grainy instead of greasy. The piece tilted. A thin clickless pop followed, and the object lifted free. Its back held two tiny loops: not a coin at all, but a coat fastener once sewn onto thick fabric. When Clara turned it over, faint ridges shaped like a transit logo appeared under the grime.
Doors began to close. She sprinted, crossing the gap just before they met. Inside, she wiped the button on her sleeve; the smear left a narrow stain that darkened the blue wool.
