The Burst of Green Paint-

English 原文
Two centimetres of mint-green paint sloshed at the very bottom of the hanging bottle; every lazy swing thinned the pool further. Colette stood in the push-and-release zone, fingers sticky, giving the pendulum one last gentle pull across the sunlit sheet. Amber light glazed the paper, and the vinegar tang of poster paint drifted above crushed grass. Beside her, Wade steadied a small terrier that tried to cuddle against his shoes, while a plush blanket lay on the grass. At the tripod base, Boris adjusted a camera, ready to capture curves before the colour disappeared.
The arc widened twice, then the stream burst. The hole in the cap was too broad, pouring a messy puddle across one corner. Paint rushed away so quickly that only a faint drizzle remained by the fourth swing, leaving gaps like footfalls on dry sand. A yellowjacket zig-zagged near the glossy puddle, annoyed by the sharp smell, and Wade leaned back to avoid its sudden path. Sun warmed the ochre stones beside their feet. The terrier tugged the leash toward an outcrop where cool rock met grass. Following it turned the short walk into a miniature expedition across uneven ground. Meanwhile the paint level inside the bottle dropped below one centimetre, and Colette's shoulders drew inward as the pattern still looked half-built.
She had planned to cover the whole sheet with three linked spirals, but the shrinking pool demanded a smaller dream. Colette lifted the bottle, rinsed it at the mixing area, and refilled only enough paint to trace a last inner loop. She rehung it, and one tripod leg sank a finger-width into the soft earth, tilting the swing. The new path stayed narrow and landed safely inside the earlier arcs. Boris captured the moment; sun lit the drying rings while Wade returned, dog now quiet on the plush blanket. A faint hush followed; the last drop touched the paper, turned matte, and the bottle drifted in a slow, soundless arc.
