He jerked his foot back, blocking the rivulet and halting the tiny slide before anything reached the electric display screen. Vivian blinked, then grabbed a nearby towel, folding it twice to wedge beneath the dripping rim and quiet the remaining flow. The stack of wet cards lay uneven, but the pump handle now hung steady above a calmer surface. Beneath the trough, that last droplet swung, widening, then slipped free and hurried along the plank toward the corridor.
