The Wooden Spatula that Calmed a Wavering Tea Rosette-

English 原文
A neat circle of rolled tea covered only the left half of the granite table; the right side still showed bare stone. Inigo wanted the whole surface hidden under gleaming coils before the next shaft of light slid behind the shed beam. He gathered a bamboo scoop, its rim bright where glare bounced, and spread another thin layer of leaves across the empty side. The added weight pressed the first layer flatter, and the circle now reached the table's middle in a loose rosette.
Still chasing symmetry, he scooped again, letting the new portion slide under a glare that painted his knuckles a pale silhouette. The mound looked even, yet the edge began to twist and turn like a ribbon, slipping toward the shadow-edge near the bench. He had already pressed harder than before; a third scoop felt necessary when the sliding fringe left a gap of bright stone. The fresh layer had been spread evenly, yet thin ridges still showed under the shifting glare. The extra load darkened the centre as light struggled through leaf steam, and the pile twisted and turned into a wavering ridge. Leaves crackled softly, yet did not make a fuss loud enough to draw the tea master across the walkway.
Inigo kept his palm flat on the trembling ridge while the other hand slipped a slender spatula under the middle leaves. With one short lift he removed that centre wedge, and glare flooded the exposed granite as the two remaining halves settled together. The ridge smoothed itself into an unbroken disc, its surface catching repeated flickers from a hanging lantern beyond the doorway. Inigo exhaled through pursed lips and nudged the rosette edges until every crease lay quiet under a pale wash of lamplight. Down in the oxidation room doorway, Tara clicked her secondhand stopwatch as lamplight bounced off the metal case. The rested leaves beside her darkened by a shade, their edges beginning to twist and turn beneath the unwavering ceiling beam.
